About Mr. Coburn:
After serving in the military in West Germany as a Czech Intelligence Analyst during the cold war, Mr. Coburn attended St. Leo University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management with a specialty in Computer Information Systems. He also holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from National-Louis University. Although Mr. Coburn was born in Maryland, his family has a long history in Brooksville and he has lived here most of his life. He attended Brooksville Primary School, Eastside Elementary (when it opened), Brooksville Junior High (which changed to Parrot Junior High), and graduated from Hernando High School. He began his educational career at D.S. Parrott Middle School as a Computer Science and Business Applications teacher and taught those classes for 11 years. Mr. Coburn then obtained Social Studies certification and began teaching 7th Grade World Geography. He has also taught Civics and 8th Grade United States History and later taught 6th Grade United States History which focused on the exploration of the New World through Reconstruction (1877). After 12 years of teaching Social Studies classes with occasional computer classes, Mr. Coburn is now back to teaching Business Keyboarding and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) classes full time. |
